What this means for you

Part of our Huntersville neighborhoods guide.

Where it is

Three town plans cover parts of this area:

  • The town’s 2040 Community Plan marks an activity center called Huntersville East on N.C. 73, where an earlier N.C. 73 corridor plan recommended a neighborhood center. A rezoning there allows 22 acres of commercial use, 15 acres of attached housing and 15 acres of detached housing. The plan also lists widening N.C. 73 from N.C. 115 to Davidson-Concord Road.
  • The Davidson-Concord Road / NC 73 Area Plan, accepted Dec. 15, 2008, was a joint strategy of Cornelius, Davidson and Huntersville for the Davidson-Concord Road area at N.C. 73, written as development pressure grew on the area’s farmland.
  • The NC 73 / Poplar Tent Road Small Area Plan, adopted May 7, 2012, guides the land near Sam Furr Road and Poplar Tent Road, which the 2040 plan calls the Poplar Center activity center.

Downtown and Pottstown are to the south and the Sam Furr Road area across N.C. 115 to the west. We counted 2,953 tax parcels inside town limits in this area.
