Where it is

The town’s Beatties Ford Road / Mt. Holly-Huntersville Road Small Area Plan, adopted Oct. 17, 2005, calls for shops at the intersection of the two roads, low- and medium-density homes along Beatties Ford Road, a new street network and a low-intensity “urban village” next to Long Creek Elementary. It also pictures Beatties Ford Road as a four-lane boulevard gateway into Huntersville. The 2040 plan says three rezonings since then allow up to 45,000 square feet of commercial space and 119 single-family homes at Long Creek Village, and that Hopewell Village, at Beatties Ford Road and Mt. Holly-Huntersville Road, first rezoned by Mecklenburg County in 1991, allows about 62,000 square feet of buildings.

Hicks Crossroads is to the north and Rosedale to the northeast. Town limits are irregular here, and some nearby homes with Huntersville addresses are in unincorporated Mecklenburg County. We counted 1,668 tax parcels inside town limits in this area.
