Most of Huntersville’s patios are at Birkdale. Four of the five places here are at Birkdale Village, Birkdale Place or Birkdale Commons Parkway, off Interstate 77 at Exit 25. Metro Diner is near Exit 23 at Gilead Road and Reese Boulevard.

The places come from OpenStreetMap records inside Huntersville’s town limits, the same data that feeds our local directory, checked against each place’s own website on Oct. 12, 2026. A place is listed only if its own site says it has a patio or outdoor dining; we added Burtons Grill, Caribou Coffee and First Watch from their own location pages. Patio seating can depend on the weather and the season, so call ahead. The list is alphabetical; it is not a ranking or a recommendation, and nobody paid to be on it. Burtons Grill

Burtons Grill in Birkdale Place lists a patio among its features and invites diners to its “comfortable dining room and spacious patio.” It promotes seasonal outdoor dining, weekend brunch and Wine Wednesday, and its menu features burgers, salads, steaks and seafood made from scratch.

Caribou Coffee

The Caribou Coffee on Lindholm Drive lists patio seating and indoor seating on its location page. It serves coffee drinks and breakfast sandwiches all day and opens at 5:30 a.m. on weekdays.

First Watch

First Watch, a breakfast, brunch and lunch restaurant at Birkdale Commons Parkway, says its Huntersville location has “an outdoor patio” for brunch or lunch in good weather. It is open 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. every day.

Metro Diner

Metro Diner at Gilead Road and Reese Boulevard lists outdoor dining among the features of its Huntersville location. It serves breakfast all day, lunch and dinner, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.

Red Rocks Cafe

Red Rocks Cafe, an American restaurant and steakhouse in Birkdale Village, describes a “spacious patio” as well as private dining spaces. It serves lunch, dinner, Sunday brunch and late-night dining, and offers free valet parking on Friday and Saturday nights.
