Mother's Day in Huntersville 2027: brunch, gardens and gift markets

Mother’s Day is Sunday, May 9, 2027. No Huntersville restaurant or venue had announced 2027 Mother’s Day plans when we checked in October. These are the options that run on a Sunday in May every year: brunch at Birkdale Village, a makers’ market on the second Sunday, and the gardens at Daniel Stowe Conservancy in Belmont.

What this means for you

• Brunch: book early; three Birkdale-area restaurants list weekend brunch.
• Gifts: the Birkdale Village Commons Market ran on second Sundays in 2026, which would put a 2027 market on Mother’s Day.
• Outdoors: the Stowe gardens open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sundays.

North Italia takes reservations online and runs valet Thursday to Sunday in front of Birkdale Village Concierge. Red Rocks Cafe takes reservations through OpenTable and Resy. More options are on our brunch in Huntersville page.

Gift markets

• Birkdale Village Commons Market: an open-air market of local vendors, curated by Shop Local QC, with boutique fashion, handmade jewelry, vintage finds, home decor and baked goods. In 2026 it ran 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the second Sunday of each month, March to October, according to the event page. The second Sunday of May 2027 is Mother’s Day.
• Huntersville Growers’ Market: Saturdays 8 a.m. to noon at Veterans Park; the 2026 season opened May 2. Details are on our farmers markets page.
• Birkdale Village shops: center hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday to Saturday and noon to 7 p.m. Sunday; store hours may vary.

A garden outing

Daniel Stowe Conservancy, 6500 South New Hope Road in Belmont, posts these hours:

• The Gardens at Stowe: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday to Sunday; closed Monday and Tuesday. Admission is bought in person; members and children under 2 are free. Last entry is half an hour before closing.
• Trails, dog park, the Trailhead Store and the Farmhouse Garden Center: free and open daily 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
• Adventure Trail and Prairie Castle Playground: open during garden hours.

The weekend before and after

• Saturday, May 15, 2027: Kids to Parks Day falls on the third Saturday of May, the town says. In 2026 the town ran a park photo scavenger hunt from 9 a.m. to noon, with prizes at the Huntersville Recreation Center, according to its event page.
