Black Friday is Friday, Nov. 27, 2026, and Small Business Saturday is Nov. 28. In Huntersville the shopping is centered on Birkdale Village, the open-air center off Interstate 77 at Exit 25, and on downtown, where the town’s free holiday market fills Veterans Park on Dec. 5. We list hours only as each center publishes them, and we do not list deals.

Birkdale Village

Birkdale Village posts center hours of 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday to Saturday and noon to 7 p.m. Sunday, and says store hours may vary. It had not posted Black Friday hours when we checked; we will add them when it does.

  • Getting there: take I-77 to Exit 25 for N.C. 73 and Sam Furr Road, then turn onto Birkdale Commons Parkway, the center’s directions page says.
  • Parking: free self-parking in the decks and surface lots, with garages off Birkdale Commons Parkway and Lindholm Drive and short-term spaces on the parkway. Valet is in front of Concierge for a fee.
  • Concierge offers bag checks while you shop, during property hours, and has every restaurant’s menu.
  • Santa’s Cottage, between Anthropologie and Lululemon, is open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursdays to Sundays from Nov. 22 to Dec. 24. Book an appointment; walk-ups are taken if time allows, the center says.
  • Birkdale on Ice, the skating rink in The Plaza, opens Nov. 21. Details are on our holiday lights and Christmas events page.

The malls nearby

Northlake Mall in Charlotte and Concord Mills in Concord set their own Black Friday hours. Check Northlake Mall and Concord Mills before you go; we could not confirm 2026 holiday hours for either when we checked.

Small Business Saturday: Nov. 28

The U.S. Small Business Administration marks Small Business Saturday on Saturday, Nov. 28, 2026. American Express founded it in 2010, and the SBA has cosponsored it since 2011. American Express keeps a map of participating businesses.

Birkdale Village says nearly half of its lineup is now local business owners or franchisees, and its Grove has four small “tiny retail” pods for short-term pop-ups by local businesses, according to the center’s history page.

At Holidays in Huntersville, more than 50 local vendors sell holiday gifts alongside free children’s rides, ice sculptures and pictures with Santa. Food trucks and local drink vendors sell food and drinks. Admission is free.

The Huntersville Growers’ Market season ended in August, and Birkdale Village’s monthly markets run March to October. Davidson’s farmers market, about six miles north, runs Saturday mornings through November; see our farmers markets page.

Parking and traffic downtown

For the tree lighting and holiday market weekend, the town closes Main Street from Huntersville-Concord Road to Bigham Street and Maxwell Street from Huntersville-Concord Road to Huntersville ARP Church, 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4, and 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5. Public parking: the Town Center parking garage, 105 Gilead Road; Huntersville Elementary, 200 Gilead Road; the downtown greenway trailhead, 102 Gilead Road; and the Huntersville Arts and Cultural Center, 14614 S. Old Statesville Road.
